Update Installation Issues
To determine whether you have installed the annual update
correctly, check to see the version number by opening the
program, pressing the Help button, and then
pressing the About Depreciation Calculator button.
Compare your version number with the version number of the
latest update.
If you do not see the latest version number, this means
that the update has been installed in the default location
on your hard drive and your prior installed version has
been installed in another location other than the
preferred default location. Therefore, the update was not
able to find where your original installed version of the
program is located, so it could not update it.
The default locations are as follows:
For Windows XP:
C:\Program
Files\Cellutionware Software\Depreciation Calculator\
For Windows 7:
C:\ProgramData\Cellutionware
Software\Depreciation Calculator\ (Note that the
ProgramData folder is a hidden folder. You will need to
unhide hidden folders on your compute in order to view
it.)
To find out where your Depreciation Calculator
software has been originally installed, you will need to
locate the desktop icon, right-click on it, and then
select Properties. The installation location will
be displayed in the Start In field. See the graphic
below. To see the complete installation path, select the
field with your mouse to highlight it. You may want to
copy the highlighted Start In filed and paste it into your
word processor. In the graphic below Depreciation
Calculator has been installed in the default location on
the C drive. However, if you see any other drive or folder
location, you will need to reinstall the update and modify
the installation location on the third window of the
installation program to match the folder location you have
found in the Start in field. Press the Browse
button on the third window of the installation program as
shown below to locate the installation destination folder
that matches the Start in field.
